RAPID CITY – Brookings’ Beth Hildebrant had a big day at the state girls’ tennis tournament on Friday, as the freshman advanced to the consolation championship in both No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.
In singles, she beat Rapid City Central’s Chelsey Christenson, 8-6, in the consolation semifinals. Hildebrant (12-13), who has a 3-1 record in the state tourney, faced Pierre’s Kelly Brusven in the consolation championship (ninth place) Saturday at Sioux Park.
