Raising of the flag

Both city and county officials helped out at the special flag-raising ceremony, held Tuesday at the Brookings City & County Government Center. It was the first official flag raising for the new facility in downtown Brookings. As part of the ceremony, South Dakota Rolling Thunder of Brookings, Chapter 2, presented a POW/MIA flag to the center. Shown above, from left, Brookings County Commissioner Don Larson and City Councilor John Kubal raise the new POW/MIA flag with help from Rolling Thunder representatives.
