Ready for the first day back!

Hillcrest Elementary School kindergarten teachers were busy Monday preparing for a new class of students to enter the Brookings School District this week.



Seen here, teacher Kate Mogard lays out papers for her students Monday afternoon in preparation for the school’s open house. Kindergartners brought in their school supplies, picked up some information and took a little time to become comfortable in their new classrooms during the open house.



Brookings teachers have been busily preparing their classrooms over the past weeks to be ready for the first day of school. Students begin classes Wednesday but have a shortened first day back.
