• PRT performs Disney show for SDSU students, community
BROOKINGS – Prairie Repertory Theatre welcomes South Dakota State University students back to school this fall with two performances of Disney’s classic, “Beauty and the Beast.”
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. both Wednesday, Aug. 29, and Thursday, Aug. 30, in Doner Auditorium in the Admini-stration Building on campus.
The performances close the PRT 2012 season and are open to SDSU students and the public.
Not only should audiences be prepared to experience the lively characters and music from the Disney film, but also to enjoy new Broadway-worthy musical numbers.
In the play, Belle, a beautiful young woman, is imprisoned by the evil Beast to free her father. Beast, a former prince, was transformed into the vicious animal-like creature, and must learn to love and accept love, in order to be converted back into a prince.
Kimberly Graff, Humboldt, will take the stage as Belle, and Kameron Nelson, Rapid City, plays Beast. Twenty-five other cast members help tell the enchanted tale.
SDSU students are admitted free with their student IDs. Other show ticket prices are $18 for adults, $16 for senior citizens, $12 for SDSU employees and $11 for non-SDSU students and children.
Tickets can be purchased at the Audience Service Office in the SDSU Performing Arts Center, or call 688-6045. Tickets may also be purchased online.
