A new Brookings High School graduate gets a hug from two friends following the school’s commencement ceremony Sunday afternoon at the Swiftel Center. The Class of 2012 includes 161 graduates. Ceremony speakers included Alex Buys, student council vice president, Jeff Zhang, National Honor Society president, Kaitlin Kwasniewski, student council president, and Nicholas French, National Honor Society vice president. Roses on the stage honored the memory of John Tyler Bennet, a classmate who died in an auto accident this past fall.
