Cossack boys take 2nd, girls 4th at LCC

ARLINGTON Deuel swept the team titles at Monday's Lake Central Conference golf meet at Lake Region Golf Course.

The Cardinal boys shot a 204 while the girls carded a 221 on the 16-hole course. Lincoln Swenson and Kali Trautman won medalist honors with a 66 and 63, respectively, to lead Deuel.

Sioux Valley fired a team total of 230 to tie for second with De Smet/Lake Preston in the boys' division.

Hamlin finished second in the girls' team standings with a 252 while the Cossack girls placed fourth with a 302. Jordon Nelson led the Sioux Valley boys with a 73, good for seventh place individually. Jase Strasburg carded a 76 to finish 11th and Lucas Hope fired an 81 to finish the Cossacks' scoring.

Nicole Bulais led the Cossack girls with a 94; Adair Chase shot a 95 and Mikayla finished with a 113 for the team score.

Matt Anderson led De Smet/Lake Preston with a 75, while teammate Brad Penney was a shot behind at 76. Austin Janssen finished the team scoring with a 79.

Taylin Albrecht finished with a 103 for the D/LP girls.
