A lifelong educator

McGeough retiring this year after 40-plus years in schools

VOLGA Sandra McGeough has promised her husband that, when she retires from Sioux Valley Elementary School this spring, she wont get so busy volunteering that its like shes still at work.

But that may be difficult for the lifelong educator who, having just celebrated her 65th birthday this week, has a zest for life and a heart for helping others.

An Estelline native, McGeough attended Northern University and began teaching second grade in Watertown. Her husband Bill McGeough was in corporate management and the couple soon moved to Sioux Falls for his career. There she taught four years of private school, then taught preschool part-time in Ohio, while her own children were young.
