BROOKINGS – Eva Mozes Kor faced the Angel of Death and lived to tell her story.  The 78-year-old survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp will bring her message of strength and forgiveness to South Dakota State University for the Harding Lecture Series on Wednesday, March 20.

Her speech, “Ethics in Medicine:  Lessons from Dr. Mengele’s Lab,” will be at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. A book signing will be held after the lecture.

“I stopped being a victim, and that makes me a very powerful person,” Kor said of her decision to publicly forgive Mengele when she visited Auschwitz in 2010.  “Forgiveness is really nothing more than an act of self-healing and self-empowerment.”
