• SDSU student will use scholarship to aid ecosystem research
BROOKINGS – Suzanne Cotillon had to read the letter several times before it sunk in that she was the 2012-2013 recipient of the Joseph F. Nelson Graduate Scholarship at South Dakota State University.
“I was both very surprised and honored,” she said. “I knew I would be in competition with many good students. I’m grateful for the opportunities it will provide me.”
Cotillon, born and raised in France, will graduate from SDSU in August 2013 with a master’s degree in geography. Her research, which is the focus of her thesis, studies ecosystem services delivery related to land use change between 1950 and 2010 in the Black Hills.
