Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., visits with Kevin Kephart, SDSU vice president for research, following an hour-long town hall session on campus.



Thune was in Brookings on Wednesday to discuss the recently passed tax relief package, the upcoming debt ceiling negotiations, and the need to cut spending in Washington.



The senator’s meeting at SDSU attracted about 100 people, and he took questions ranging from the lack of a national budget and a farm bill, the need for tax reform, economic development and much more.
