Posted: Friday, Nov 25th, 2011

SDSU singers wear Elizabethan-era regalia for a biennial Christmasse Madrigal Feaste.

• Shows includes full dinner, choirs in 16th century costume

The South Dakota State University Music Department will present the 2011 Christmasse Madrigal Feaste in the Peterson Recital Hall of Lincoln Music Hall on campus at SDSU. Tickets are still available for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

“To many, this tradition symbolizes the official kickoff of the holiday season,” said SDSU Music Department Head David Reynolds. “Peterson Recital Hall will be exquisitely transformed into an Elizabethan-era banquet hall. The production is an absolute wonder to hear, taste and behold.”

The biennial Christmasse Madrigal Feaste features music of the holiday season performed by members of the Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers and Westminster Singers. During the performance, patrons will be served a full dinner and experience the choirs in 16th century costume.

Tickets are $35 a person. To purchase tickets, contact the SDSU Music Department at 688-5187.
