A 24-year-old Brookings man pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges alleging he distributed a variety of substances in a drug-free zone year.
Tyler D. Leclair is facing a four-count indictment from a Brookings County grand jury.
The first count alleges that on Jan. 29, 2009, he distributed methamphetamine and ecstasy to a confidential informant.
Authorities have also accused him, on the same day, of delivery or possession of a non-controlled substance represented to be cocaine to a confidential informant. On March 4, 2009, court documents say he distributed less than one ounce of marijuana to the same confidential informant .
The fourth charge alleges that all three incidents listed above happened in a drug-free zone. Leclair's residence, 1017 Main Ave., is within 1,000 feet of Sexauer Park.
Counts one and four are Class 4 felonies punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine apiece. The second and third charges are Class 6felonies each punishable by up to two years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
After accepting all three of Leclair's not guilty pleas, Circuit Judge Vincent Foley scheduled a jury trial to begin April 21.
Leclair is free on a personal recognizance bond.
