Brookings Police say someone burglarized a home early Thursday morning and stole a laptop inside.

Lt. Derrick Powers said a 21-year-old Brookings woman reported the theft in the 800 block of Ninth Street at 12:34 a.m.

The woman told police that someone forcibly entered the residence, not her own, by cutting a window screen and took her computer. The laptop is valued at $1,400. The theft occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 12:30 a.m. Thursday. Police do not have any suspects in the case.
