• Harald Vik started bike trip in Brookings Thursday
BROOKINGS – The Norwegian bicyclist who started his two-state bike tour in Brookings on Thursday was injured Friday morning when the bike he was riding was hit by an SUV in Sioux Falls.
Harald Vik, 71, who is deaf and blind, was making his trip on the back of a tandem bike. Sioux Falls police say he suffered a broken pelvis and injuries to his left arm and leg when a 70-year-old Sioux Falls man driving a Jeep Liberty hit the tandem bike from behind.
