Police investigate pair of Brookings home burglaries

BROOKINGS – Authorities are investigating a pair of home burglaries in Brookings.

In the first, a thief took advantage of an owner’s absence to enter a home in the 300 block of Fifth Avenue the past weekend.

The burglary netted about $1,500 worth of clothing and electronics gear, police said.

The matter was reported early Saturday evening, but it’s believed the burglary occurred between noon on Feb. 15 and 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 16.
