Not guilty pleas from assault suspects

• Men accused in Brookings shooting, stabbings appear for arraignment

BROOKINGS – Two Brookings County men pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to unrelated assault charges, alleging they each used a dangerous weapon this winter to injure others.

A Brookings man appearing in Brookings County Circuit Court this week denied accusations that he shot another man in the leg last month.

And an Elkton man has also denied that he stabbed three men and threatened a fourth during a downtown Brookings brawl in December.
