BROOKINGS – “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”
It’s a different story, however, when the mailman is stopped by a police officer and arrested for drunk driving.
That actually happened in Brookings Wednesday: a city police offices tracked down a mail carrier suspected of drinking on the job, administered a field sobriety test and arrested the mailman on the spot.
