A two-car injury-accident on I-29 near Brookings Thursday morning is being blamed on ice, strong winds, and overdriving road conditions.
A report from the Brookings County Sheriff's Department says the accident happened about 8:45 in the southbound lanes just north of exit 133.
A Toyota Tercel driven by Barbara Danley, 51, of Waubay was traveling southbound in the right lane; Dennis Lanners, 68, of Clear Lake was attempting to pass her when his 2002 Buick SUV began to slide due to strong winds and an icy spot on the roadway.
