City resident reports gas siphoned

BROOKINGS – A Monday police report involved a case of gas siphoning.

A resident in the 400 Block of Medary Avenue South told police that gas had been siphoned from his parked vehicle sometime the previous night.

The siphoner got away with 10-12 gallons of gas, worth about $40 at the pump.

Police Lt. Derrick Powers said gas siphoning is an occasional crime in Brookings, but it’s more often reported in warmer months.
