Gas grill gone

• 'Summerset Sizzler' stolen



BROOKINGS – A couple of thieves could be cookin' with gas and sizzling some steaks with an ill-gotten grill.

Brookings Police Lt. Derrick Powers said a 32-inch stainless steel grill valued at $1,000 went missing this week from Pioneer Fun Spas at 216 Sixth St., across the street from Pioneer Park.

The theft was reported Monday evening. Powers said the theft took place between about 8:30 p.m. Sunday and 5:30 p.m. Monday. He added that "the grill was on display for the (Brookings Summer Arts) Festival weekend outside the business."

Its brand name is "Summerset Sizzler.” It weighs about 75 to 100 pounds; Powers said, "The owner figured it would have taken two people to remove the grill."

The lieutenant said there were no leads on the theft. Anyone with information about the theft should contact the Brookings Police Department at 692-2113.
