WINNIPEG, MANITOBA – A day after downing the University of Winnipeg 105-53, the South Dakota State men’s basketball team continued its dominance north of the Border on Tuesday with a 94-60 exhibition win over the University of Manitoba Bisons.
Dale Moss led five Jackrabbits in double figures with 14 points in the win. Nate Wolters added 13 and Griffan Callahan scored 12, while Chad White and Jordan Dykstra both pitched in with 10 points.
Unlike the game on Monday when the Jackrabbits opened the game on a 21-0 run, the Jacks actually trailed early in Tuesday’s contest when Manitoba opened the scoring. But the Bisons’ lead did not last long, as the Jacks quickly gained the lead and never looked back.
SDSU led by five points at 22-17 after the first quarter, but extended its lead to 50-31 at halftime. The Jacks put the game away for good in the second half, outscoring the Bisons 44-29 over the final two frames.
The Jacks get today off before returning to action on Thursday, when they play the Winnipeg Wesmen again at 8:30 p.m. before wrapping up the Canadian Tour on Friday against the Bisons at 6:30 p.m.
