ARLINGTON Playing without starting middle hitter Anne Jensen, out due to illness, the Arlington Cardinals took a set to get going; but when they did, the match didn't last long in Arlington on Tuesday.

The Cardinals downed Grant-Deuel , 25-20 , 25-10 and 25-13 to advance to the District 3B championship match against Castlewood.

Lanny Gross led the Arlington offense with 20 kills and Kelsey Kaufmann added 11 kills and eight digs as the Cards improved to 29-1 with the win.

Alli Boeck and Jacklyn Jencks finished with 28 and eight assists, respectively, while Brynn Olson had 11 digs.

Emma Larson's two kills led Grant-Deuel . McKenzie Krakow had 23 digs for the Wildcats, who finished their season at 11-11 .





Castlewood def. Estelline, 25-10 , 27-25 , 16-25 , 25-23

CASTLEWOOD The Castlewood Warriors will be playing in the championship of the District 3B volleyball tournament . Castlewood earned the spot with a 3-1 win over the Estelline Lady Redmen on Tuesday at home.

Castlewood hit 12 aces in the match. Kayla McEldowney hit four and Allison Dekam three for the Warriors. Audrey Hupf and Allison McEldowney led the Castlewood defense with 24 and 12 digs, respectively.

For Estelline Katlin Ward hit 10 kills. Mikayla Saathoff recorded 11 digs while Brooke Begalka tallied 10 digs.





Grant-Deuel def. Waverly-South Shore, 25-22 , 25-13 , 22-25 , 25-20

ARLINGTON Emma Larson and Kelsey Woolery had four kills each to lead Grant-Deuel past Waverly-South Shore in the opening round of District 3B play in Arlington.

Woolery finished with 38 digs and five aces as the Wildcats advanced to play Arlington.

Courtney Schweitzer and Mikaela Fischer had seven and six kills, respectively, as the Coyotes finished their season at 5-22 . Chasity Jellis had 12 assists.
