SIOUX FALLS The Yankton kick squad prevented Sioux Falls Washington from making it a sweep of the Sioux Falls Invitational Competitive Spirit Meet on Thursday at Lincoln High School.

The Warriors won Hip Hop, Jazz, Pom and the Stunting/Tumbling portions of the meet. Platte/Geddes won the Stunting/Non-Tumbling category, an event in which Washington didn't participate.

Brookings placed second in the Stunting/Tumbling, scoring 191 points to the Warriors' 210.5. Sioux Valley placed sixth with 171.5 points.

"Overall I was very pleased with our performance," said Brookings' head coach Patsy Hendricks. "We have been battling sickness for the last two weeks and did not have a full team for last night's competition we hope to have everyone healthy this next week as we have our two biggest meets of the year, ESD and State."

The next action for the Bobcats is the Eastern South Dakota Conference Meet in Huron on Nov. 6.
