SIOUX FALLS – Sioux Falls Roosevelt swept Brookings in a softball doubleheader Monday, winning by the scores of 4-3 and 5-0.
The Bobcats took a 2-0 lead in Game 1 on Brianna Kreutner’s two-run single in the second inning. The Rough Riders answered with four runs in the third.
Brookings’ Kara McDougall, who finished with three hits, cut the deficit to 4-3 with an RBI triple in the fourth.
Mariah Gummer added three hits and two runs for Brookings.
In the second game, Roosevelt scored two runs in the first and three in the second.
Kreutner and McDougall both had two hits in the loss.
Brookings returns to action with a doubleheader at Sioux Falls Lincoln on Monday.
