HURON – Bobcat junior Addison DeHaven added to his resume with two record-breaking performances in Thursday’s Mark Wendelgass Invite in Huron’s ‘Last Chance’ Meet.
DeHaven reset his BHS 1,600-meter record and broke the meet record with a winning time of 4 minutes, 14.91 seconds. An hour later, he broke the Bobcat 800-meter record of 1:56.92 set by Phil Workman in 2007 – and the meet record – with a winning time of 1:56.17. Both marks beat the SDHSAA state-meet qualifying times.
Other individual winners for the ‘Cats on the track were RJ Helsper in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 16.54 seconds; Marisa Milton with a provisional time of 48.94 in the 300 hurdles; Kaitlyn Hadley in the 100 with a state-meet automatic qualifying time of 12.58; and Emily Berzonsky with a time of 5:16.55, which beat the automatic qualifying standard.
