BROOKINGS – South Dakota State’s Parker Lawley earned his second men’s tennis Player of the Week honor this season for his performances this past weekend.
Lawley earned the honor after an undefeated weekend at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. He was a three-set winner in both singles matches and won one of the two doubles matches in a tiebreaker.
In the opening meet of the triangular, Lawley defeated Patrick Hammers of Western Illinois 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in the second singles spot. He teamed with Andrea Boglić for a 9-8 (10-8) win at the top doubles spot versus Christoph Haertel and Bradley Holt, as well. The wins propelled SDSU to a 5-2 win and, at the time, secured its spot in the four-team Summit Championships.
