ELMHURST, Ill. – Five men’s basketball players were selected to the 2012-13 Summit League Academic All-League Team as voted by the Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors of the league’s nine member institutions. Student-athletes were chosen for the honor based on their academic and athletic performances this season.
Tournament champion South Dakota State led the way with two selections in guard Brayden Carlson and forward Jordan Dykstra. Joining the duo are Oakland’s Travis Bader, Western Illinois’ Jack Houpt and Omaha’s John Karhoff.
Carlson, Dykstra and Karhoff each earned Capital One Academic All-District selections in February. Bader (1st team) and Dykstra (2nd team) were named All-Summit League.
