It could be tough for the Bobcats to match last season’s performance at the Class A State Wrestling Tournament as they prepare to take on the state’s best at the Watertown Civic Arena on Friday and Saturday.
Brookings finished eighth as a team in 2012 with 85 points as the Pierre Governors won the team title with 158 points to Huron’s runners-up total of 145.
The ‘Cats sent 12 wrestlers to the 2012 tournament, while only seven qualified this season, including three Region 1 champions – juniors Nick Hanson (145) and Devon Crandall (152) and senior Justin Behrend (285).
