ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State’s Nate Wolters was named the Summit League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after putting on a pair of record-setting performances.

The senior point guard from St. Cloud, Minn., shattered the single-game school record with a 53-point outburst in an 80-74 victory at IPFW on Feb. 7. He also knocked down a school-record nine 3-pointers – on 14 attempts – in the win.

"It was certainly a historic weekend for him in terms of scoring and even though that's a lot of points, it isn't something that comes as a surprise, just knowing how much time he's put in the gym and how hard he's worked," head coach Scott Nagy told SDSU Sports Information. "In terms of what he did, particularly on the offensive end, I think what most don't see is what he does for us defensively and I think that he's been a great defender this year. People just don't get to see that and notice those things."
