BROOKINGS – South Dakota State women’s basketball head coach Aaron Johnston mentioned in Thursday’s postgame press conference that his team was, “Very, very good,” and on Saturday, his Jackrabbits backed that statement up as they steamrolled Oakland, 83-48, in Summit League action at Frost Arena.

“I think we had the kind of urgency that maybe we didn’t have in our last game so that was good to see,” said Johnston following Saturday’s win. “The stats obviously were in our favor and the score was in our favor, but the thing I was most pleased with and talked most about was just the urgency and effort that we played with.

“We got a lot of shots and that had a lot to do with our defense and transition – just effort kind of play. It was fun to see us play with that kind of effort.”
