Bobcats rough up Mitchell, 51-18

MITCHELL – Brookings won 11 of the 14 matches en route to a 51-18 Eastern South Dakota Conference wrestling victory over Mitchell on Thursday.

Brookings opened up a 21-0 lead and later pushed the margin to 42-6. On the day, the Bobcats won four matches by fall and four by decision, and one each by forfeit, technical fall and major decision.

Jacob Puppe got it going with a 4-0 decision over Briggs Havlik at 106 pounds.

The Kernels were open at 113, as Justin Nixon was credited with a win via forfeit.
