ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State point guard Nate Wolters was named the Summit League Player of the Week on Monday after the senior led the Jackrabbits to road wins at Western Illinois and at IUPUI.
“Nate has a good feel for the game in general, and that showed in both games this week," SDSU head coach Scott Nagy said. "He played great defense at Western Illinois and distributed the basketball well at IUPUI."
Wolters earned his 12th career award and fourth this season after leading his team to a pair of victories, including a win at first-place Western Illinois on Thursday. In a rematch of last year's Summit League championship game, Wolters led all scorers with 22 points while adding six assists, five rebounds and three steals to hand WIU its first league loss and snap an 11-game win streak.
