MACOMB, Ill. – Nate Wolters scored a game-high 22 points to eclipse the 2,000-point mark for his career and South Dakota State pulled out a 59-53 victory over Summit League co-leader Western Illinois during men’s basketball action Thursday night at Western Hall.
Chad White hit a 3-pointer with 3:02 remaining to give the Jackrabbits the lead for good at 53-50.
Following a WIU turnover – on a Wolters steal – and a pair of missed free throws by SDSU’s Jordan Dykstra, the Leathernecks’ Ceola Clark cut the deficit to 53-51 with a free throw with 1:59 to go.
Wolters answered with a jumper to push the margin to 55-51 with 1:25 left.
