BROOKINGS – The Jackrabbits stepped up to make some plays to knock off Middle Tennessee State in nonconference women’s basketball action on Saturday at Frost Arena.
SDSU pulled away from a 34-34 tie with less than 15 minutes to play to beat the Blue Raiders, 63-56, and even its record at 4-4 on the season.
“At times, I thought we maybe played better against Marquette – especially offensively,” said SDSU head coach Aaron Johnston of his team’s 77-74 overtime loss on Wednesday. “Tonight, I think we struggled a little bit offensively – but defensively, we played much better compared to where we were a couple of days ago.
“It was interesting to see how you can have a totally different game from a couple of nights ago and obviously have a different result.”
