RAPID CITY – It didn’t pay to be a top seed on the opening day of the Class AA State Volleyball Tournament at Naasz Gymnasium on the campus of Rapid City Central.
Eighth-seeded Watertown took out Sioux Falls O’Gorman in the first match of the day, and then, Rapid City Stevens knocked off No. 2 Aberdeen Central in the final match.
In between, seedings held true as Washington downed Mitchell and Roosevelt handled Huron.
