SIOUX FALLS – The Bobcats opened their boys’ soccer season with a win, and didn’t get another victory until Saturday’s state tournament play-in game against Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
It took two overtimes and a second round of penalty kicks before Brookings earned a state tournament berth with a 2-1 win over the Rough Riders as the ‘Cats outshot Roosevelt, 8-5, in the shoot out.
The Bobcats face Spearfish in the opening round of the state tournament at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
