VOLGA – Sioux Valley topped Deubrook Area in four sets in a wild volleyball match Saturday night. The match had a unique flow, to say the least; as the Cossacks remained unbeaten at home this season with a 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 25-16 victory over the Dolphins.
“We compared one of our first matches to when you first learn to drive a car – gas, brake, gas, brake – and it kind of felt like that,” said Deubrook Area head coach Rachelle DeBeer. “And then there were a lot of timeouts to stop momentum.
“I thought there was a lot of aggressive serving and passing on both sides, but it was kind of a weird flow at times within the match. I felt like that kind of helped us a little bit, that it was kind of herky-jerky and a little broken. We’re kind of used to playing that way and we’re not afraid to play that way, so I thought that was good for us.”
