Hildebrant wins consolation title

BROOKINGS – Brookings’ Beth Hildebrant closed out her freshman campaign with a ninth-place finish in Flight 6 singles and a 10th-place showing in Flight 3 doubles at the state girls’ tennis tournament, which concluded Saturday at Sioux Park.

Hildebrant defeated Pierre’s Kelly Brusven, 10-7, in the consolation championship on Saturday.

She finished 4-1 at the state tourney, wrapping up the season with a singles record of 13-13.
