More exciting Little League Baseball took place at the Medary Fields on Thursday:
• Century 21 9, Pizza Ranch 2
Carter Krogman was the winning pitcher for Century 21. Krogman also had three hits, including a home run and a triple, scored three runs and had three RBIs. Tanner Shepardson also knocked in three runs, scored once and hit a triple. Jack McCarty scored once and singled. Ellie Abraham hit a single and Evan Becher scored one run.
For Pizza Ranch, Trevor Kuechenmeister, Nick Hardin, Josh Sell and Jacob Vlaminck each hit singles, and Dillon Jensen smacked a double. Jensen’s two runs batted in plated Sell and Jacob Engen. On the pitcher’s mound, Kuechenmeister and Hardin combined for 10 strikeouts.
• First Bank & Trust 6, CF Promo 5
A two-out double by Rhett Zelinsky drove in Jay Szafryk, who had singled earlier, in the bottom of the sixth inning to deliver the victory to First Bank & Trust. Trevor Berreth and Brady Ammann each hit a single and a double, and scored one run. Drew Cole and Szafyk hit two singles apiece, with Tyler Swanson, Malachi Sherwood and Brock Mahanke also getting base hits.
For CF Promo, Parker Beers and Cody Niklason each went 2-for-3 at the plate with two singles, and Beers scored two runs and Niklason one. Jay Wilber hit a double, scored two runs and drove in two runs. Pitchers Brandon Nelson and Niklason combined to strike out eight batters.
• BraVo’s 19, Superior Homes 1
Joshua Gustafson pitched four innings on the mound to win the game for BraVo’s. Gustafson also hit a home run, singled three times, scored four runs and had four RBIs. Tyler Kreutner, Ryan Miley and Eric Sell each scored three runs, with Kreutner, Miley, Dominic Dobesh and Preston Helmbolt each driving in two runs. Ryan Treiber, Sell and Helmbolt each singled twice, with Miley hitting a double and a triple.
Superior Homes had no report.
