All-Dakota Valley Conference football team announced

League champion Colman-Egan led the way with six players on the All-Dakota Valley Conference football team, while Deubrook Area was among three teams with five selections.

The Hawks, who went 8-0 in conference play, had four first-teamers – Tyson Rosenboom, Cory Staab, Mike Bennett and Austin Ross. Evan Lovro and Riley Clark were honorable mention selections.

Colman-Egan’s Jeff Hegge was named Coach of the Year.

The Hawks outscored their opposition 271-54 (a 33.86-6.75 per game average) during the regular season. They allowed just eight touchdowns in eight league games.

The Dolphins, Castlewood and Dell Rapids St. Mary each had five all-league performers, including four first-teamers apiece.

Dylan Schwartz, Trever Petersen, Tyler Murphy and Tyler Jensen made the all-league team for Deubrook, while Ryan Knutson was an honorable mention.

The Dolphins (8-3) had the most postseason success among the 10 conference teams, advancing to the semifinals in Class 9AA.

Castlewood’s Carver Ching was named the league MVP.

Arlington had four players honored, including three on the first-team. Elkton-Lake Benton, Estelline and De Smet/Iroquois each had two first-teamers and two honorable mentions.

Both Lake Preston and Oldham-Ramona/Rutland landed one player on the first team and had another on the honorable mention list.
