Bandits pummel Post 45 to sweep American Legion DH

BROOKINGS, It was an old-fashioned thrashing at Bob Shelden on Thursday night as
the Bandits needed just four at bats in each game to invoke the 10-run rule on Harrisburg in American Legion baseball action.
Post 74 won the opener, 10-0, and came back with a 14-1 win in the nightcap to improve to 24-7 on the season.

Bombers Black take Game 1, 12-9; fall 19-7 in nightcap

BROOKINGS, The Bombers Black used a couple of big innings to take down Watertown, 12-9, in the opening game of a VFW baseball doubleheader at Mickelson Field, but the Black Sox returned the favor in a 19-7 nightcap win.
The Bombers play host to Brandon Valley on Monday in a 4 p.m. doubleheader at Mickelson Field.

AURORA, Danny Hughes hit a go-ahead two-run single in the top of the seventh inning as the Sioux Falls Saints topped the Aurora A's 11-9 in an amateur baseball game Wednesday night.

VALLEY SPRINGS, The Bandits pushed their win streak to seven games, matching a season-high, with a 7-4 defeat of Brandon Valley on Wednesday evening.

BROOKINGS, The Bandits spotted Huron four runs in the first inning of the opening game of an American Legion doubleheader at Bob Shelden Field on Tuesday, but then Post 74 scored 32 unanswered runs to sweep the twinbill, 19-4 and 13-0.
Brookings, 21-7 on the season, travels to Valley Springs today for a single nine-inning game scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
