ABERDEEN, The Golden Eagles girls' basketball team toppled the fifth-ranked and Eastern South Dakota Conference-leading Brookings Bobcats, 45-39, on Thursday in Aberdeen.
Brookings led 31-29 at the end of the third quarter, but the Golden Eagles outscored the Bobcats 16-8 in the fourth quarter to take the ESD win.

MADISON, Mitchell won the Madison Triangular with 145.95 points, the host Lady Bulldogs were second at 137.75 and Brookings finished third with a 135 total on Thursday.
Mitchell's Quinci Herll was victorious in three events, floor (9.6), vault (9.5) and beam (9.35), and took second on the bars (9.45) while taking the all-around title with a 37.9 total.

ABERDEEN, The Brookings Blizzard beat the Aberdeen Wings 5-1 in an NAHL Central Division game Thursday night at Odde Ice Center.
All six goals came in the second period.
