BROOKINGS, Nine Bobcats were honored on the All-Register football team, highlighted by Player of the Year Mikey Daniel.

State champion Howard puts five on Class 9A All-State team

Holding the state title trophy was the Howard Tigers' one goal this season.

BROOKINGS, South Dakota State flew past Division II opponent Chadron State 87-42 in a men's basketball game Monday night at Frost Arena.
The Jackrabbits limited the Eagles to 25.4-percent shooting (15-of-59), including just 18.5 percent (5-of-27) in the first half while building a 36-12 lead.

CHICAGO, Senior Megan Waytashek scored her 1,000th career point and had a game-high 26 points, but it wasn't enough as the South Dakota State women's basketball team lost 84-62 Saturday to No. 18/20 DePaul in front of 1,722 fans at McGrath-Phillips Arena.

ABERDEEN, Parker edged Arlington 23-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-23, 15-10 in a back-and-forth Class B State Volleyball Tournament first-round match Thursday afternoon.
