BRANDON, Aberdeen Central's Jonah Dohrer birdied the par-4 18th to beat Pierre's Andrew VanGerpen in a playoff during the Eastern South Dakota Conference Boys' Golf Tournament on Saturday at Brandon.

BROOKINGS, The Bobcat girls' tennis team had an interesting Saturday as they were narrowly defeated by Milbank Area, 5-4, before Mother Nature knocked them off the court as they were playing Yankton.
Brookings won 2-out-of-3 doubles matches, but came up short with just two wins in six of the singles matches against the Lady Bulldogs.

HURON, The Huron Tigers celebrated their Homecoming game with a 29-7 Eastern South Dakota Conference win over the Brookings Bobcats on Friday at Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers got on the scoreboard first after Hyland Heinz rambled 18 yards down the right sideline for a touchdown with 8:05 to play in the first quarter. Travis Kleinsasser's extra-point kick made it 7-0.

BROOKINGS, Brookings' Ellie Abraham defended her individual crown and Brandon Valley's Jakob Hanna was the medalist in the boys' race at Thursday's Russ Strande Cross Country Invitational at Edgebrook Golf Course as Aberdeen Central swept the team titles.
Abraham covered the 5,000-meter course in 19 minutes, 14.38 seconds while Aberdeen's Melanie Jacobs placed second in 19:40.09.
