TULSA, Okla., Landon Busch and Will McAffer combined on a four-hit shutout and Luke Ringhofer provided early offense with three runs batted in as the South Dakota State baseball team stayed alive at the Summit League Baseball Championship with an 8-0 victory over Omaha Thursday afternoon at J.L. SDSU’s Branick named to Academic All-District Team

South Dakota State University distance runner Connor Branick was named Thursday to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 6 Men's Track and Field/Cross Country Team.
A senior from Sioux Falls, Branick was honored on the 11-member Division I squad with a 3.98 grade-point average while majoring in biotechnology.

Cubs drop A’s 5-4 in season opener

AURORA, Brady Diercks pitched 6 2/3 solid innings in his return and Joey Texley scored a run in the eighth inning as the Brookings Cubs defeated the Aurora A's 5-4 in their amateur baseball season opener on Wednesday night.
Diercks earned the win, giving up three runs, two earned, on six hits. He struck out eight batters and walked four.

TULSA, Okla., For the seventh time in eight seasons, and the fourth in a row, South Dakota State has qualified for the four-team Summit League Baseball Championship.

RAPID CITY, Salil Purandare and Jonah Dobbs both posted third-place finishes as the Bobcats took ninth in the team standings at the State Boys' Tennis Tournament, which concluded Saturday.

BALTIC, The Madison girls and Sioux Falls Christian boys cruised to the respective team titles at Thursday's Region 3A Track and Field Meet.
