Four Bobcats qualify for state

BROOKINGS, The Bobcats didn't have a lot of athletes meet the state meet qualifying or provisional marks at Tuesday's BHS Alumni Qualifier at the BHS Sports Complex, but they still had some solid performances against quality competition.
Alexis Gannon won the long jump with a qualifying mark of 18 feet, 8 1/2 inches, while freshman Jaci Sebern eclipsed the provisional mark

Ovall sweeps Deubrook Area Invite/Open titles

WHITE, Dolphin sophomore Kayla Ovall swept the girls' titles at the Deubrook Area Invite/Open on Tuesday at the par-36 Six Mile Creek Golf Course.
The players' first nine holes acted as the Invite (which was postponed on April 14) and the second nine was the Open.

Canby edges ELB for boys’ title at Kiwanis Relays

CLEAR LAKE, The Canby boys and Ipswich girls claimed team titles at the Kiwanis Relays on Tuesday.
The Lancers totaled 93 team points, edging Elkton-Lake Benton (92) by a point. Great Plains Lutheran (61) was third. Lake Preston (15) tied for 10th and Estelline (9.5) finished 12th.

Sanderson wins triple jump

YANKTON, South Dakota State senior Jake Sanderson won the triple jump with a mark of 45 feet, 4 1/2 inches at the Mount Marty Twilight on Tuesday.

RAPID CITY, A big rally in Game 2 of a doubleheader at McKeague Field on Saturday helped the Brookings Bobcats salvage a split against Rapid City Stevens.
