Bobcats ready to take first step

BROOKINGS, It's postseason time for South Dakota's big schools as the Class 11AA and 11AAA football teams kick off tonight for the chance to play in their respective championship games in Vermillion's DakotaDome on Nov. 14 and 15.
That means the Bobcats' 42-0 drubbing of Watertown last Thursday needs to be filed away and forgotten by Brookings head coach Lee Schmidt

ELKTON, The host Elks scored 38 unanswered points through the second and third quarters to turn a tie game into an easy first-round 9AA playoff win over Menno/Marion on Tuesday.
After a scoreless first quarter, Elkton-Lake Benton got on the scoreboard when Alex Trautman hooked up with Heath Schindler on an 8-yard pass with 9:52 to play in the half.

HAYTI, Brody Grantham ran for four touchdowns, threw for a score and returned a fumble to paydirt as top-seeded Hamlin dropped Colman-Egan 56-0 in a Class 9B first-round matchup Tuesday.
