Blizzard score six goals in win over Wings

BROOKINGS, Derek Hammer and Nicholas Cardelli both lit the lamp twice as the Blizzard beat the Aberdeen Wings 6-4 in an NAHL Central Division matchup Wednesday night at Larson Ice Center.

Four seniors, including two repeat selections, were named to the first team on the 2016 Class AA All-State roster, which was selected by the South Dakota Volleyball Coaches Association.
Seniors named to the first team included Samantha Slaughter of Harrisburg, Cate Whiting of Rapid City Stevens, Karissa Schroder of Huron and Anezka Szabo of Sioux Falls Lincoln.

Benson named to All-Academic team

ELMHURST, Ill., South Dakota State junior Ellie Benson was named to the Summit League All-Academic team, becoming just the second Jackrabbit all-time to earn the honor.
