The Brookings County Commission adopted the county’s 2010 annual budget Tuesday.

The budget includes more than $15.5 million in expenditures and a tax mill levy of $4.70 per $1,000.

About $8.5 million will be raised through tax dollars; the rest of the budget is balanced through other revenues.

The budget commissioners vote to approve Tuesday by a 4-0 motion was the same as the provisional budget established in early September. Commissioners reconsidered briefly an extra $25,000 for the South Dakota State University Innovation Campus, which had been slated to receive $50,000 in 2010, before deciding not to change the dollar figure.

The budget is available for public inspection at the Brookings County Finance Office.
