PIERRE (AP) – The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Commission will hear public responses today on proposals to drastically reduce the number of deer tags for hunters this year.
The total number of tags proposed for the East River deer season is down by about 40 percent. West River tags will be down 56 percent. Officials say the decrease is to combat a shrinking herd caused by harsh winters, disease and habitat loss.For the complete article see the 06-05-2014 issue.
