BROOKINGS – The Brookings Register has officially been recognized as the best small daily newspaper in the Dakotas.
“I’m pleased to announce the Register took home the top award from the combined annual conventions of the South Dakota and North Dakota newspaper associations last weekend in Rapid City,” said Managing Editor Jill Fier. “The Brookings publication was named the ‘2013 Best of the Dakotas’ Small Daily Newspaper.”
The Register took the highest honor in the general excellence competition when judged against all small daily newspapers, circulation under 9,000, in both states.
The award was the first of its kind as the two state newspaper associations held their first joint convention this year. They will meet again in 2015.
