The Brookings City Council began its second-Tuesday meeting this week with a tour of the city garages. Street Superintendent Koss Delfinis led the council and city manager through the four-building complex on Seventh Street. The cinder-block and metal structures are clearly showing their age, and city operations have outgrown the space available. City leaders are considering replacing the outdated buildings and are exploring a joint venture with Brookings County, and the idea will be a topic of discussion at Thursday’s Joint Powers Board meeting.
