• HB 1134 returns to State Affairs on Feb. 4
BROOKINGS – Members of the House State Affairs committee are evenly split on a bill that would require legislative approval for projects such as the upscale apartment complex now being proposed for the South Dakota State University campus.
House Bill 1134, sponsored by District 7 Rep. Scott Munsterman, is targeted at the controversial plan to develop the Northwest Quadrant at SDSU.
On Wednesday, efforts first to pass the bill and then to delay it until the 41st day of the session were both deadlocked on 6-6 votes. The bill will return to the committee at its next meeting of all 13 members, on Feb. 4.
