Transmission line moving forward

• One CapX2020 line will connect Brookings Co., Big Stone power plant

BROOKINGS – A group of upper Midwest utility companies is moving forward with its line to transmit wind energy to where it can be used, and the 110 local landowners who will be asked to agree to an easement should already know who they are.

CapX2020 representatives Tim Carlsgaard and Darrin Lahr spoke with Brookings County Commissioners last week to let them know the line’s route has been solidified and their organization will begin to meet with landowners after the first of the year.
