SDSU campaign exceeds $220 million

• Donors surpass goal by 10 percent with rest of month to spare

BROOKINGS – South Dakota State University’s comprehensive campaign has surpassed $220 million, pushing it more than 10 percent beyond the goal.

It Starts with STATE: A Campaign for South Dakota State University officially began Jan. 1, 2007. The goal for the six-year campaign was increased to $200 million in October 2010 based on strong response from alumni and friends. It Starts with STATE is the largest higher-education fundraising campaign in South Dakota history by nearly $100 million.

Through Dec. 5, 2012, the campaign has received commitments of $220,473,235. The campaign is scheduled to end on Dec. 31, 2012.
