Council to look at ban on texting while driving

• Group wants canceled study session rescheduled for BMU presentation

BROOKINGS – Should the City of Brookings ban texting while driving?

City council will take up that thorny issue at its November study session, following a request for a public airing of the topic by John Kubal.

“I’d like to see us take a look at the potential for an ordinance that would prohibit texting while driving within the city limits of Brookings,” Councilor Kubal suggested during the “future topics” portion of Tuesday’s meeting.
