Flu’s here, take action now

• ‘Season’ starting early, unpredictable

It's time. Summer's quickly waning, the chill of autumn is replacing sunshine and warmth, and winter won't be long in coming.

However the seasonal changes are looked at, loved or not, they send one annual message that can't be ignored: influenza – the flu – is here. And it's already hit South Dakota.

Lon Kightlinger, state epidemiologist, told the Register on Tuesday morning that a total of four cases, all in children, had already been been reported in three counties: one in Lincoln, one in Pennington and two in Davison.
